How to Use KazuTime at Home

Finite Tasks / Activities

(When a task needs to be completed as fast as possible or within a set amount of time)

Sustained Tasks / Activities

(When a task or activity needs to be performed the entire length of a set amount of time)

Clean your bedroom / your toys

Parents can set KazuTime up on an iPad, iPhone, Tablet, etc. for clean-up time. Using KazuTime on a small device makes it easy for the child to take the device with them wherever they go.  Using KazuTime, children will be able to visually see how much time is remaining and can race against their fur friends to clean up their room. Being able to see the amount of time remaining can also help decrease behaviors with your children and can get them motivated to complete the task!

Brush your teeth

Getting children to brush their teeth can be challenging! Use KazuTime to ensure your children are brushing their teeth for the proper amount of time. Set KazuTime up on an iPhone, iPad, Tablet, etc. to allow your children to see how long they need to brush their teeth. Knowing how much time is remaining using KazuTime will motivate your child to keep brushing until the time is up!

Get ready for school in the morning

Do always feel like your family’s morning routine is a constant race against time? Using KazuTime can help with this! Set KazuTime up on an iPad, iPhone, etc. to let your children know how much time they have left to get ready for school. Children will be motivated to race against their fur friends, which results in them being ready before the bus arrives!  Having KazuTime available to children helps them to understand and see how much time is left, while simultaneously providing positive reinforcement to children for their behavior (i.e., the dogs, music, stars obtained if task is completed early, etc.). Parents can also utilize external rewards (e.g., stickers) to further reinforce their children when they get ready for school before the time has elapsed. Pairing KazuTime with positive reinforcement can help to increase the likelihood that children will demonstrate the behavior again in the future!

Bath time

Bath time can be an enjoyable routine for some children, while others may put up a fuss every time they need a bath. Set KazuTime up on an iPhone, iPad, Tablet, etc. and place it on the counter to allow your children to see how much time is remaining. Not knowing how long bath time is can increase anxious behaviors in children who do not enjoy it. Seeing how much time is remaining can help to motivate your child to stay in the bath for the set amount of time if it is a routine they typically do not enjoy. On the other hand, for those children who love bath time, knowing how much time is remaining can help to get those children out of the bath more efficiently. Either way KazuTime is a great tool to use to motivate children and make bath time more enjoyable!

Do your homework

Motivating children to complete their homework is often a difficult task! Parents can set KazuTime up on an iPad, iPhone, Tablet, iPod, etc. to let their children know how long they have left to complete their homework, which can keep them motivated. Children can visually see how much time is remaining and can race against their fur friends to complete their homework. Being able to see the amount of time remaining can help teach children basic time management skills that can be enhanced each time the app is used. Sometimes children can get easily upset or discouraged if they don’t know how much homework time is left. Having KazuTime visually available can help to relieve some of these anxieties your children may have. It can even help to motivate those children that often procrastinate their homework to complete it more efficiently!

Outside play time

Children always look forward to playing outside! Use KazuTime to help children be able to see how much time is remaining to play outside, thus helping to ease the transition back inside once the time has finished. KazuTime can be used as a preventative measure for behaviors with children who struggle with transitions, in order to provide frequent visual reminders of how much time is remaining. Make KazuTime a consistent part of your children’s’ play time!

Get ready for bed

The night time routine can often take longer than necessary when children are tired and easily upset. Using KazuTime can help with this! Set KazuTime up on an iPad, iPhone, etc. to let your children know how much time they have left to get ready for bed (e.g., during bath time, brushing teeth, etc.). Children will be motivated to race against their fur friends, which results in them being ready for bed quickly!  Having KazuTime available to children helps them to understand and see how much time is left, while simultaneously providing positive reinforcement to children for their behavior (i.e., the dogs, music, stars obtained if task is completed early, etc.). Parents can also utilize external rewards (e.g., stickers) to further reinforce their children when they get ready for bed before the time has elapsed. Pairing KazuTime with positive reinforcement can help to increase the likelihood that children will demonstrate the behavior again in the future, thereby making the night time routine more efficient!

Time left before bed time

Use KazuTime to help your children get to bed on time. Set KazuTime up on an iPad, iPhone, etc. to let your children know how much time they have left before bed. Parents can also utilize external rewards (e.g., stickers) to further reinforce their children when they go to bed immediately once the time has elapsed. Pairing KazuTime with positive reinforcement can help to increase the likelihood that children will demonstrate the behavior again in the future, thereby making the night time routine more efficient!

Do your chores

Motivating children to complete their chores is a challenging task! Set KazuTime up on an iPad, iPhone, etc. to let your children know how much time they have left to complete their specific chores. You can even use your camera on your device to take pictures of items to represent each specific task on your children’s’ chore list! Children will be motivated to race against their fur friends, which results in them finishing their chores quickly!  Having KazuTime available to children helps them to understand and see how much time is left, while simultaneously providing positive reinforcement to children for their behavior (i.e., the dogs, music, stars obtained if task is completed early, etc.). Parents can also utilize external rewards (e.g., stickers) to further reinforce their children when they complete their chores before the time has elapsed. KazuTime can motivate your children and help make chore time fun!

Story time

Children always look forward to story time! Use KazuTime to help children be able to see how much time is remaining for story time, thus helping to ease the transition for bed once the time has elapsed. Your children will love being able to read books with their fur friends! Make KazuTime a consistent part of story time routine!

Take care of your pet

Taking care of the family pet can be a fun task for children, but over time as the pet grows older motivating children to care for the pet can be challenging. Using KazuTime on an IPad or Tablet can help children be motivated to care for the family pet more consistently. Children can visually see how much time is remaining and can race against their fur friends to complete the tasks necessary to keep the family pet happy and healthy!

Video game / Device time

KazuTime allows kids to visually see how much time they have left to play their favorite video game. Many children struggle transitioning from one task to the next. Being able to see and understand the amount of time remaining can help decrease negative behaviors that can arise when your child’s screen time is up.

Solve the puzzle

Use KazuTime to motivate children to race against their fur friends to solve a puzzle! KazuTime can be set up on a family iPad, iPhone, Tablet, etc. to allow for children to visually see how much time is remaining, motivating them to work harder in the final minutes!

Snack time

Use KazuTime to keep kids focused while enjoying their favorite snacks and lunch. KazuTime can be set up nearby while they eat, allowing kids to see how much time is remaining and motivates them to finish their food on time.

Hide and seek (you need to find the other one within a certain amount of time)

Use KazuTime to make hide and seek even more fun! KazuTime can be set up on an iPad, iPhone, Tablet, etc. to allow the “seeker” to see how much time they have left to find those that are hiding. This will motivate the “seeker” to move quickly and race against their fur friends to find those that are hiding before the time is up! Positive reinforcement can be paired with KazuTime to reward the “seeker” when they find those that are hiding before the time has elapsed. Hide and seek never seemed so much fun until now thanks to KazuTime!

Care ride (“Are we there yet?”)

Now your kids will know how long they have until you arrive at your destination. Avoid answering the same questions over and over by setting up KazuTime before your journey. Set the time until the next stop or input the entire trip. Your children will be able to see exactly how far along you are.
